Professional Bio:
Jeff Cook has over three decades of experience coaching soccer at the collegiate and professional level. Prior to his current role as Head Coach of the Penn State Men’s Soccer program, he coached with the Philadelphia Union Academy and Bethlehem Steel FC.
Over the course of his career, Jeff has coached, mentored and helped develop more than forty players who went on to sign professional soccer contracts, including ten who competed at the international level. Named coach of the year three times by the Conference USA and Big Ten men’s soccer conferences, he has led his NCAA Division I teams to eleven NCAA Tournament appearances and eight conference championship titles.
Before starting at Penn State in 2018, Jeff served as the Assistant Academy Director for the Philadelphia Union youth development program. While at the Union, Jeff also served as First Assistant Coach of the Union’s USL affiliate and development team, Bethlehem Steel FC, as well as the Head Coach of the U-19 Academy team.
Prior to joining the Philadelphia Union, Jeff served as Head Coach of the Men’s Soccer program at Dartmouth College, where he oversaw the highest performing Ivy League program during that period and was subsequently inducted into the institution’s athletic hall of fame.
Education:
Jeff earned his B.A. in Economics from Bates College. He received his UEFA A, B, and Pro License Diplomas from the Scottish Football Association.
Personal:
Jeff and his wife, Christina, have two sons; Liam, who graduated from the University of Pennsylvania, and Kieron, who graduated from Penn State.
